I'm brand new to riding. In fact I pick up my first road bike tomorrow - after joining NFBC and receiving very good information to start shopping. Now in preparing to start riding I have a question. I really like getting the e-mails telling about all the different rides that are available. In the e-mails they talk different catalogies mean - A/B/C/S - what does that mean? Thanks for your help.

From the rides page:

Ride Ratings:
A = 18-21 MPH
B = 14-17 MPH
C = up to 14 MPH
S = Social Ride. The emphasis is on the social side of the club, so the speed will be that of the slowest rider in the group. Generally following a social ride there are refreshments and food to continue the event.

PS I don't know how to use all those little smiley faces on the right. Welcome to the Club, jump right in and have a ball. Make plans to attend the Christmas Party.
