Sorry for the short notice. My Dad & I plan to do a 100 mile modified Tour De Forts route on WEdnesday December 16 on our tandem. We will start at Harris Teeter on Amelia Island at 7:30. We will then head south. We expect to stop at the Mayport Ferry convenience store at 8:30. We will then head west & up New Berlin Road to yulee, over to Kings Ferry over to Hillard and back to Amelia Island. We will aim to average 16 mph and stop as needed. Jonathan Tomassetti |

Although my stoker plans on attending a wild New Year's party the night before, we plan on joning the YO-YO ride on January 1. A hundred miles is a good way to start your cycling year even if you are not entering the current Century Challenge. The forecast (as of Dec 26) is for January 1 to be cloudy in the morning. This will keep the morning temperature from dropping so low. It should be about 40 at the start of the ride. Later the sun will come out and it will warm up to about 60. The winds are forecasted to be NW at 12 mph. It will be slightly better than normal bicycle riding weather for Jacksonville in January. |

I have yet to get my December century in so I doubt I can opt for the long ride Jan. 1st. I do hope to do a shorter leg though. Paul C. had mentioned that several were interested in doing a century tomorrow as part of the Four County ride. For the heck of it I mapped out a 97.3m loop that will go up to Callahan from Macclenny - awaiting a call from Paul to see if this is what he had in mind. Stay tuned... |

| Forecast for January 1 Yo Yo ride as of Dec 30: 8 to 9 am rain storms ending leading to partly sunny weather. Temperature 56 at 8am and warming up to 60 by 11am and then dropping a few degrees. Wind WNW at 16 mph at 8 am in morning & increasing to 20 mph by 1pm then dcreasing slightly to 18mph. Not a good day to get an early start. |

| Originally I planned to do this, but was just diagnosed with bronchitis from doing a century in the damp cold last Sunday. Doc grounded me for two weeks (don't know if I'll sit THAT long). |

For those of you who are interested in completing your centuries as part of a club ride, I urge you to contact our ride director in support of this. There were two rides scheduled in January that had centuries included, and they have been edited to exclude centuries. There are two area rides that have century routes included: the M-W-F JBRT at 0830, and the Saturday TdDC at 0800. Since we can get club points and miles for riding these I will focus my efforts here. I'll post here when I am able to do one of these as far in advance as possible. Anyone interested can contact me via Facebook. |

Sorry for the late post here, but I DID send out a TOPICA last night when details were confirmed. Several of us are departing from the JBRT this morning at 8:30 for the semi-annual Moon River Pizza Ride to Fernindina Bch., approximate mileage roundtrip is 97 miles. This ride counts for points and mileage AND if you complete this you'll get full credit for all miles in addition to your centurion challenge. |

| Don't miss out on the Suwannee Sweetheart century ride this coming weekend in Whitesprings. There should be quite a few NFBC members there and our own Jeanne Hargrave is the organizer. |

February 28, 2010 AZALEA RIDE. My Dad & I will be doing the 100 mile version of the AZALEA RIDE on February 28 on our tandem. As it is the last day of the month & we haven't done our century yet, we will be doing the 100 mile no matter how cold or wet it is. However, the current long term forecast for 2/28 says it will be 48 to 61, mostly sunny with 0% chance of rain. (Jeanne Hargrave says she probably will not be doing the 100 mile route.) |

| Good luck to all of you. I got mine out of the way early this month (Dave V. Ryan B. and I did the TdDC Century Sunday the 7th) but may still do the Azalea Ride. However, I recall last year's having a bodacious headwind all the way back from Palatka and trust me, it didn't BUILD character, it shredded it! |

Please don't quote me since it's not posted on the website yet, but I was told Clyde's Ride Spring Edition is going to be March 21st, for those of us planning our March Century for the Centurion Challenge. On that note, it would be nice if the club rides were posted a month in advance on the website. |

For March my dad Bob & I will target Clyde's Ride on March 21. " Usher in the spring riding season with Clyde Riggs' semiannual classic 100 mile ride from the Jacksonville Baldwin Rail Trail to the Okeefenokee swamp." |

| Great news Jonathan, I'll be doing that one also. The start time is up in the air, so watch the website for details - the Wheelspeak has two different start times listed in the same paragraph! |
