The North Florida Bicycle Club brings you a one-day bicycle event designed for all road cyclists, the 25th Annual Tour de Forts Classic.

Come ride with us in the footsteps of history on all new routes on coastal roads past the Castillo de San Marcos to Fort Matanzas. On the longer routes ride through farmlands, on the Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail and along the St. Johns River. Take your pick of five routes: 25, 37, 56, 70 and 100 miles.

We'll provide pre-ride snacks, rest stops stocked with food, water and Gatorade, marked routes, maps, mechanical support, SAGs, motorcycle safety escorts and a post-ride lunch.

Arrive on Friday or Saturday and make your ride a weekend getaway. Spend Saturday visiting Florida's Historic First Coast and exploring the ancient City of St. Augustine. Average temperatures in late April range from the 60s to the 80s for perfect biking and sightseeing weather. There is plentiful hotel space with packages available as well as camping. See below for information.

Visit the Castillo de San Marcos for free through April 24th. In celebration of the National Park Service's 100th anniversary the Castillo de San Marcos is offering free admission to the fort.

RIDE RULES - WE WANT THIS TO BE A FUN, FAMILY EVENT!
This will be a monitored ride. Wrist bands and bibs will be issued and required to be worn during this ride.
Helmets are required.
Each bicycle must be equipped with at least one brake that meets the requirement of FS 316.2065(14). Headphones are prohibited by Florida State Law, per FS 316.304. No use of aerobars while riding in a paceline.

To maintain a safe, fun, family oriented ride for everyone, we expect that riders will obey all traffic regulations and police officers. Riders must follow standard, well-accepted safe cycling practices which will be emphasized in the pre-ride safety briefing. Ride marshals will be on the route to monitor compliance and provide assistance pending the arrival of SAGs or emergency personnel, as appropriate.

CANCELLATION POLICY - Sorry, but there is no rain date and we cannot offer refunds. The event takes place, rain or shine. If for some reason you cannot attend the ride after registering, you can have someone pick up your T-shirt for you at the ride or you can pick it up at the next scheduled NFBC club meeting. Otherwise, it becomes the property of the club.

Parking is available at the north and south ends of the High School and on either side of the circle in the front of the school. You may also park on the grass on Varella Ave in front of the school and on School House Road. On Varella the grass is wide enough that you should be able to park head in. Volunteers should park in the south lot. There is also parking available in the strip mall just north of Varella on Lewis Speedway. Do not park in the church lot at the corner of Varella and Del Monte. Please be considerate of your fellow cyclists; parking will be sufficient but tight.
