We're traveling south and west to (hopefully) find mild temperatures for January's event.
This one is in Spring Hill, which is about a 3-hour drive from Jacksonville.
The last Mania event brought in cyclists from 14 states and 4 countries.
In 2018, the event will benefit "VIP Warriors." This is a Central Florida/Tampa Bay non-profit veteran's athletic organization that engages wounded veterans of all branches of service & combat eras in endurance sports.
An interesting aspect to this event is that there are special categories for hand, recumbent and wheelchair cyclists. The hand and recumbent cyclists will race on a (timed) marathon course that is a Boston qualifier.
Regular road cyclists should sign up for either the Fallen Heroes Century ride or the 35- or 65-mile routes.
The registration costs vary with the distance selected.
35 miles = $40
65 miles = $50
100 miles = $65
