COME SHARE THE ROAD WITH US

On February 8, two of the North Florida Bicycle Club’s Saturday Repeating Rides will slightly alter course to share the road with the Hastings Boulevard Car Show.

On Saturday, the town of Hastings will shut down Main Street for a car show and fish fry featuring St. Augustine Minorcan Clam Chowder.

They've had some BEAUTIFUL cars and trucks on this street the past three years. Last year, almost 100 entries and 20 vendors. AND Christ Methodist opens up their +100-year-old stone and stained glass church for free historical tours.  In addition to classic cars, there will be vendors and music to enjoy.

What makes St Augustine Minorcan Clam Chowder special? Minorca is an island off the east coast of Spain. Minorcans brought Datil peppers to the St Augustine area centuries ago and this pepper is used to spice up the chowder. Datil peppers have a heat level similar to the habanero pepper.

Ride a 41 mile loop starting on the trail and meandering through farmland with views of the St. Johns River. We will return via the Palatka-St. Augustine Trail passing through downtown Hastings around 11:30 AM.

No one who joins the ride will be dropped. Ride Leaders: Mark Atkins 973-219-1092.

NFBC TENT: This will be the rallying point for riders in Hastings. We will remind car drivers to share the road with cyclists handing out safety booklets and flyers. If you have a classic, old-time bicycle to display that would be great. Attach an index card with the bicycle’s details and history.

JERSEY: If you have an NFBC jersey, please wear it so we can show our colors!

THIS RIDE COUNTS FOR CLUB POINTS AND MILEAGE.
