If you don't work on Veterans’ Day, come ride with us from Riverside to the Jacksonville Veterans' Wall & beyond.
RIDE MAP
Veterans Wall & S-Line 35 mile Map
After short slow ride, we will first arrive at the Jacksonville Veterans’ Memorial Wall in the Stadium District of downtown Jacksonville,
Memorial Day is not just a day off of work. It is a day to remember and honor all the military personnel who have served in the United States Armed Forces.[
Therefore at the Memorial, we will stop and each rider will choose a name off the wall and we will each ride in honor of that veteran. Later you are encouraged to research your chosen veteran on the Internet and send your discovers into WheelSpeak so we can post them in the November issue. Some of the posts from previous Veteran’s Wall Rides are displayed in the October 2020 issue of the NFBC WheelSpeak Magazine.
After leaving the Wall, the 21-mile route will go north along the S-line back to Riverside. The 36-mile route will head north over the Trout River, over to the Zoo, up past the former location of the Jacksonville Airport, west to Lem Turner, along the Trout River and back to Riverside on the S-line.
Both routes will be at easy-paces and we plan to ride together. A-level riders are also welcome if they maintain the designated ride pace. In honor of the holiday wear your red, white & blue, military or other patriotic jersey.
