In our flat NE Florida, the Thunder Road Ride & The Sweet Potato Ride is our hilliest ride.  The route consists of back roads or roads with wide shoulders.

We leave Fleming Island, heading west on 220 to Lake Asbury (optional hills on the CHALLENGE ROUTE), then west to Thunder Road, east passing Penny Farms and south on the ol' Sweet Potato route before heading back north to Fleming Island.

So come on out and try this route for either 41, 62, or 69 miles.

THIS RIDE COUNTS FOR POINTS AND MILEAGE.

Maps and Garmin downloads:
41 miles (the first in line for pizza!):

.
62 miles (because Thunder Rd is enough to work up an appetite; this is everything but the Lake Asbury Loop):

.
69 mile CHALLENGE ROUTE (hills for breakfast, pizza for lunch!):

Note: there's a rest stop in the middle of Lake Asbury. Find your group and decide if you want to stop, skip it, or use it as a bail out point from the lake loop.
