Do you like a challenge? For 35 years, on the first weekend after Easter, cyclists have been riding 170 miles to cross Florida in one or two days.

This event has also been an NFBC Travel Team ride for several years. The one-day Cross Florida starts Sunday, April 3, 2016, at 7:00am, from Cocoa Beach, on the East Coast of Florida, and finishes in Hernando County on the Gulf Coast.  The two-day option covering the same route, over two days, starts Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 8:00am, with an overnight stay in Champions Gate, FL.

The ride crosses Florida mostly on quiet back country roads and travels a well-marked route south of the metro Orlando area, then through hilly Pasco County, and finishing up at the beautiful Bayport Park on the Gulf coast. There is optional organized transportation for you and your bicycle back to the start.

There will be four (4) SAG stops on the route: the first two are manned and provide food and drinks, and the last two are unmanned and provide drinks only.  You will also have support from roving SAG vehicles that can provide mechanical support as well as can SAG you to the finish line. You may need to depend on convenience stores along the route for some of your food and hydration, so there is a list of convenience stores located along the route along with your cue sheet and map so you can plan your stops accordingly.

  • Early Registration until March 2nd is $46 (1-Day) or $66 (2-Day)

  • Normal Registration is $56 (1-Day) or $76 (2-Day)

  • On-Site Late On-site Registration is $60.  No Day of Ride Registration.  Refer to website for details.

  • Optional charge: $60 - return transportation for you and your bike.  A huge enclosed truck is used to keep the bikes safe and protect all bikes.  Please note that there is limited availability and that you may have to wait for other riders to complete the ride before the start of the return trip.  Sign up online to reserve your spot right away.
