This will be a monitored ride. Wrist bands and bibs will be issued and required to be worn during this ride. This will insure that only registered riders partake of pre-ride snacks and avail themselves of rest stops, marked routes, mechanical support, SAGs, motorcycle safety escorts, maps, and a post-ride lunch.

RIDE RULES - WE WANT THIS TO BE A FUN, FAMILY EVENT! HELMETS AND BRAKES ARE REQUIRED
Headphones are prohibited by Florida State Law, per FS 316.304. Each bicycle must be equipped with at least one brake that meets the requirement of FS 316.2065(14). No use of aerobars while riding in a paceline.

To maintain a safe, fun, family oriented ride for everyone, we expect that riders will obey all traffic regulations and police officers. Riders must follow standard, well-accepted safe cycling practices which will be emphasized in the pre-ride safety briefings. Ride marshals will be on the route to monitor compliance and provide assistance pending the arrival of SAGs or emergency personnel, as appropriate.
Cancellation Policy:
No Refunds, No Rain Dates.

Sorry, but there is no rain date and we cannot offer refunds. The event takes place, rain or shine. If for some reason you cannot attend the ride after registering, you can have someone pick up your T-shirt for you at the ride or you can pick it up at the next scheduled NFBC club meeting. Otherwise, it becomes the property of the club after 30 days.


 

The North Florida Bicycle Club brings you a classic one-day bicycle event designed for all road cyclists, the 25th Annual Endless Summer Watermelon Ride.


Enjoy a wonderful bike ride on Amelia Island through Fort Clinch State Park and points along our coastal roads. Come check out the League of American Bicyclists’ 2013 Bronze Level award winner, Fernandina Beach. Take your pick of one five routes: 20, 32, 54, 77 and 100 miles.  We’ll provide pre-ride snacks, rest stops, a post-ride lunch, mechanical support, motorcycle escorts, and roving SAGs.  This is a great training ride for Bike MS.

Regular on-line registration at $40 for Club members and $55 for non-members + 7% sales tax (with complimentary T-shirt included-Click here for sizing chart) ends on September 2nd.

Late on-line registration (no T-shirt included) ends on September 10th.

After September 10th registration increases to $65 + 7% sales tax and will only be available at Atlantic Recreation Center on Saturday, September 13th from 1 to 4 PM, and on the day of the ride, September 14th, beginning at 6:30 AM. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted.

For a $25 individual membership fee and a $30.00 family membership, you receive a $15.00 discount on each of our twice yearly major rides, ESWR and Tour de Forts, and are not charged a technology convenience fee of $2.00 each time you register for a ride on-line. IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please complete one registration per person. You are not allowed to register anyone other than yourself. Each family member must log on individually using their unique user name and password to register and accept the waiver of liability. 

To start registering as a member, click the Register Now! button at the upper right of this page and sign in using your unique user name and password. For non-members wishing to receive the membership registration fee, you must first become a member of NFBC by clicking the Join NFBC! button on the upper left of the screen, then begin the registration process by clicking the Register Now! button on the upper right.

Registration of a minor child (under the age of 18) can only be made by mail or by a parent or guardian in person at Atlantic recreation Center on Saturday, September 13th from 1 to 4 PM, and on the day of the ride, September 14th, beginning at 6:30 AM. Click here to download the minor child registration form and waiver of liability. Mail the application with a check made out to NFBC for payment of the registration fee to the address listed on the bottom of the form. Please note that an adult must accompany the minor child on the ride.
 
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The success of undertakings like ESWR requires the assistance of many volunteers. If you are not planning to ride ESWR or have a family member, friend or co-worker who would be willing to help out, click on the Volunteer! ?button on the upper right of the screen just below the Register Now! button. Listed on the Volunteer page are the open positions. Check back periodically as the list will be updated as we get closer to ESWR.

RIDE PACKET PICK-UP AND EVENT SCHEDULE

 
RIDE WAIVER
Every registrant will be required to sign a "hard" (printed) copy of the ride waiver before receiving a ride packet. Copies will be available at the registration desk. If you are picking up a ride packet for someone else, they should click here to download the waiver, sign it and give it to you to bring when you pick up their ride packet. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO SIGNED WAIVER. NO PACKET.

Day before the Ride – Saturday, September 13, 2014

12:30 to 4:00 PM - Early pickup of ride packet including wristband ID, map and T-shirt and in-person registration at Atlantic Recreation Center.

 

Day of Ride- Sunday, September 14, 2014

6:30 AM - Doors open for ride packet pick up including wristband ID, map and T-shirt and day-of-ride registration.

7:45 AM - 100 mile route departs

7:55 AM -   75 mile route departs

8:05 AM -   55 mile route departs

8:15 AM -   30 mile route departs

8:15 AM -   19 mile route departs

*Riders may be released in controlled groups at the start to prevent congestion at the Fort Clinch gate 

11:00 AM to 4:30 PM - Lunch served

4:30 PM - All services end.
